Every promise Mahindra made — verbatim, sourced, archived. Before they changed their story.
In August 2025, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd launched the BE6 Batman Edition. What follows are not paraphrases, interpretations, or opinions. These are their exact words, from their exact documents, preserved on the internet and in legal filings.
Read each one carefully. Remember what you felt when you read them the first time. Remember why you paid ₹1,00,000 non-refundable within 8 days of seeing them.
Mahindra Electric SUV Official Website — FAQ Section — August 2025. The exact question buyers asked on the exact page where money changed hands:
"How many Batman Edition vehicles are available? Only 999 units of the Batman edition will be produced, making it a limited collector's edition."
Source: mahindraelectricsuv.com — Batman Edition product page FAQ. Preserved in Annexure-1 of legal notice dated March 7, 2026.
Four words carry the entire legal weight of this case: ONLY. 999. WILL BE. PRODUCED.
Not "currently." Not "in this batch." Not "for now." Not "subject to change." The word "only" is absolute. "Will be produced" is a future tense declarative — a statement of fact about what will happen. There is no qualifier. No escape hatch. No asterisk.
"This is more than an SUV. It is a collector's chapter in the Batman legacy, released on International Batman Day and reserved for those who want a story behind their steering wheel, not just a badge on it."

"With this limited-edition range, fans in India can now experience the thrill of Batman every time they drive. It's a collector's statement on wheels."

"Congratulations! You are among the exclusive 999 customers selected to own the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition. As this is a made-to-order, limited edition, there will be no physical vehicle available to see."
Source: Official email from communications@connect.mahindraelectricsuv.com to each of the 999 buyers. Subject: "You're among the 999!"
"Mahindra is here to deliver while keeping the exclusivity intact. The legend continues, now with 999 chances to own it."
Source: Mahindra press release, August 21, 2025. Note carefully: "999 chances to own it." Not "999 plus more later." Not "999 in this batch." 999 chances. That is the number. That is the legend.
"With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further — to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history."
Source: Official press release quote, August 14, 2025. "Cinematic history" implies permanence and rarity. History does not get a second print run.
"BE 6 Batman Edition — Too bold to blink. Too rare to miss. Bookings open 23rd August 2025. Limited to 300 units."
Source: @mahindraelectricsuvs official Instagram, August 18, 2025. The original post said "Limited to 300 units." Even after expanding to 999, the language of absolute limitation was preserved throughout all communications.
Under Consumer Protection Act 2019 Section 2(28), a misleading advertisement is one that gives a false description of goods or creates a misleading impression. The cumulative effect of all communications above — particularly the FAQ's "Only 999 units will be produced" — created a specific, clear impression: this product exists in exactly 999 units. No more will ever be made.
When a second batch of the identical product was announced six months later, that impression was directly contradicted. Not nuanced. Not updated. Contradicted.
Mahindra's own lawyers, in their 10-page legal reply, quoted the August 21 press release 14 times. They quoted the FAQ — "Only 999 units will be produced" — zero times.
A lawyer quotes what helps them. The FAQ helps you.
